I started investing when I was just 18 years old.

Back then, investing was very different.

If I wanted to check a stock’s price, I had to go to the library and look through financial publications. Stock prices were printed in the newspaper, so the latest you could see was yesterday’s close.

Trading fees were expensive. There were no smartphones, no real-time charts, no TradingView, and no AI.

If I wanted to see a stock chart, I had to subscribe to a service and use a dial-up modem to download the daily stock data. Then I could slowly build a chart showing the stock’s history up to that day.

Today, everything has changed.

We have real-time market data, powerful charting tools, AI, automation, sophisticated research platforms, and information available instantly from almost anywhere.

But after all these years, one thing has not changed:

Making money in the market is still not easy.

Technology has changed the way we invest. AI is changing it even faster. But the fundamentals of investing — understanding businesses, managing risk, controlling emotions, staying disciplined, and making good decisions — still matter.
